M.S. in Computational Social Science

University of California, San Diego

I am a Master's student in Computational Social Science at UC San Diego. My research sits at the intersection of media and politics, examining how political concepts are contested and reshaped in constrained media environments. I employ computational text analysis and network analysis to map the dynamics of identity politics—from investigating how the 'nation' is negotiated in electoral discourse to decoding digital infrapolitics such as Han ethno-nationalism and ideological myths. Currently, I am a researcher assistant at the Ukrainian Poetry Digital Archive with Prof. Amelia Glasser, where I analyze linguistic patterns and pronoun usage in wartime literature. I hold a B.A. (Honors) from the Communication University of China, completed via a joint program with the University of Missouri-Columbia. I am actively seeking Ph.D. opportunities starting Fall 2026.
